In the late 1980’s Doug Cartmell and his then co-director the late John Heath, attended the A.E.A Conventions and found them to be a great source of information and forged strong links with fellow manufacturers, U.S. electrologists and exhibitors.
So much so that in 1990 they arranged for Gill Morris our then Director of Training & PR, now Director of Commercial Development, to accompany the first winner of the Sterex Electrolysis Student of the Year competition and her tutor to Los Angeles to learn as much as possible from the home of electrolysis.
On that visit everyone thoroughly enjoyed calling on American electrolysis icons such as John Fanz and learning the American way of electrolysis. At this time the UK market was dominated by the Thermolysis method so being introduced to American Blend techniques was especially exciting to the Sterex group. So much so that within a very short time, combined with our training program we introduced the Sterex Blend method and the Sterex SX-B epilator with enormous success to the UK market.
